A quick design project, #tbfan zone is a simple landing page where tampabay.com is collecting Instagram photos and tweets from our various sports accounts for a fun and dynamic hub aimed at engaging the Tampa Bay area sports fans. The page came together in a couple of hours with some widgets, simple html and a little design umph. Working with my colleague, Amber McDonald, this was envisioned as an outreach effort in our ever increasing social media efforts. It is being promoted from our homepage to encourage more audience participation following on the good reception we got from music lovers for a similar project, #tampabaylive. Here’s the page:
Political season coverage continues
Although the DNC was not held in our back yard or what we’d call “our story,” this political season is proving to be a very contested debate. Comparison after comparison, contrast after contrast. So we thought it a good exercise to take a side by side look at the RNC convention held in Tampa versus the DNC held in Charlotte to round out the Conventional Wisdom series. Working with Anne Glover, we quickly compiled some numbers and here is the shareable graphic we came up with:
